Union Gas Steps Up to Close Gap
United Way of Thunder Bay gives a big ‘thumbs up’ to Union Gas employees in Thunder Bay and west to Kenora who have raised a remarkable $39,664 for the local charity this year. Funds were raised by employees through a payroll deduction campaign, Community Carnival, raffle draws and sports pools, to name a few, under the theme ‘Give Today Improve Tomorrow’. The employee donations are matched by Spectra Energy, Union Gas’s parent company, to make an even greater impact for our communities. These gifts will help to support 64 local programs offered by the United Way’s 30 Funded Agencies, and change lives for our friends, families and neighbours.
“The United Way of Thunder Bay is truly grateful for the amazing community support shown by Union Gas and its employees! These dollars will certainly assist us in closing the gap and providing much needed help to local people. Thank you!” said Jim Madder, 2015 United Way Campaign Chair.
