Union Gas Carnival for United Way
On August 12, 2015, Union Gas invited Thunder Bay residents to visit their Alloy Drive location for an extraordinary Carnival Fundraiser in support of the United Way of Thunder Bay. The impressive family-friendly event saw over 600 people join in the fun and raised over $5,200! Union Gas and its employees have a long-standing history of supporting the United Way and the group was very excited to host this great event as a ‘kick-off’ to their 2015 fundraising efforts for the United Way.
“United Way makes a difference for individuals and families here in Thunder Bay,” said James Coultis, Union Gas District Manager for Northwest. “United Way gets to the root causes of issues to build long-term solutions. It builds momentum toward fundamental societal change through education and through advocacy.” Coultis added “We are all proud of the generosity and hard work of Union Gas employees put into this event, which supports our theme of Give Today, Improve Tomorrow,”
The United Way thanks Union Gas and its Carnival organizing committee, the crowds of families and individuals that came out to enjoy the day, and the many sponsors that helped make it possible. Together we are leading the way to a better community by improving the quality of life for all local people. By collaborating with community partners like Union Gas and other groups, the United Way is addressing pressing social issues in our community and achieving lasting change for our neighbours, families and friends. As we work to facilitate the organized capacity of people to help one another, it is inspiring to see so many local people come together in a fun, interactive and engaging way to both celebrate and support our community! Thank you again for a wonderful event!
