United Way of Thunder Bay - News & Events - News - 2014 - Rotary Community Meeting Room

Rotary Community Meeting Room

June 25, 2014 we unveiled our new “Rotary Community Meeting Room”. Community Impact is about improving the quality of life in our community - addressing not just the symptoms of problems but also getting at the root causes and making fundamental changes to community conditions. The United Way of Thunder Bay works together with individuals and organizations to address unmet community needs.  Along with local partners we are helping build a healthy community.

This space will be used for meetings and training opportunities for our partners, Funded Agencies and other not-for profit organizations and groups.  This concept is consistent with the United Way’s mission and mandate which outlines our desire to build the capacity of volunteers and the community to carry out activities that will build working partnerships and collaboration that create positive community impact.

The new “Rotary Community Meeting Room” provides United Way and our partners with access to state of the art equipment and technology including presentation equipment, internet connectivity, video conferencing and conference calling. The meeting space can be converted to boardroom, lecture or classroom style meetings.

We thank the Rotary Club of Thunder Bay (Fort William) for their generous grant which has helped us create this wonderful meeting space and for their support of our community.

United Way of Thunder Bay is leading the way to a better community by improving the quality of life for all local people. By collaborating with community partners, we are leading the way to addressing social issues in our community and investing in three critical areas: Poverty, Kids and Strong Communities. Donations to the United Way are strategically invested across Thunder Bay to many vital programs and initiatives in these areas, creating a social safety net that works to achieve lasting change for our neighbours, families and friends.
