Youth are the Power of Change!

Between October 21 – December 13, students from local participating high schools have the opportunity to host various fundraisers to raise funds for local youth programs and be leaders by determining how the money will be used within our youth community through the Youth 4 Community Fundraising & Granting Initiative.

All funds raised by the participating schools will be reserved solely for youth programs, services and projects carried out by local registered charitable organizations in Thunder Bay that will focus on addressing the root causes of poverty related to youth. The issues of poverty may include: Unemployment, Hunger, Domestic Violence, Homelessness, Social Isolation, Mental Health and Education Inequality.

This program was developed to bring youth leaders from the local high schools together to learn more about philanthropy, project management and decision making and create awareness of issues and challenges that are being experienced by youth here in Thunder Bay.

Since 2010, local high schools have collectively raised over $91,000 for youth in our city!
