The United Way of Thunder Bay is currently seeking a Youth Engagement Coordinator Intern. Reporting to the CEO, the Intern will work within United Way’s special event and community impact departments and act as a liaison between the organization and various youth and youth groups throughout the city. The goal of this position is to develop initiatives to better our community, build capacity among youth, and to amplify a ‘youth movement’ in our city. This work will help build capacity in youth and promote volunteerism and community engagement, while also encouraging youth pride and a sense of belonging in the community.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate is highly dedicated and organized with a strong ability to multitask and must be a university or college graduate within the last three years from an accredited college or university program relating to Child & Youth Care, Community Development or Social Work. This Intern position must provide first time employment in the above-mentioned related fields of education. Graduates with experience and knowledge of digital platforms and digital communications will be considered an asset. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. Candidates are only eligible to participate in the internship program one time. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada. A valid Driver’s License is required.
