Amanda Walberg is approaching her first year with the United Way’s GenNext Cabinet. She decided to join the GenNext team in June 2018, after her experience with volunteering at different GenNext events like the Day of Caring. Amanda enjoys meeting great people, getting involved and giving back to the community; this aligns with GenNext which inspired her to join.
Amanda volunteers throughout the community for different organizations and events. Volunteering and providing hands-on help while building experience is something that has always interested her. She is a driven young professional and leader in the community; being a part of a team that wants to make improvements that are long lasting in the community is an area that Amanda is incredibly passionate about.
Currently Amanda works for the Sleeping Giant Brewery while completing her 4th year in the Kinesiology program at Lakehead University.
A fun fact about Amanda is that she is very athletic and talented. If asked, her response would be very humble and focus on the contributions her team members make, but Amanda is in fact one of the top players on the mixed beach volleyball team she plays for!
We love our volunteers and are pleased to have Amanda and her community-minded leadership as part of our team!
