Marc DeGagne joined the GenNext Cabinet in May 2018, after he completed a university placement with the United Way of Thunder Bay. He decided to jump right in and was a member of the Day of Caring 2018 planning committee.
Marc enjoys meeting and working with new people. He loves to learn, try new things, and is very innovative and creative. He began his volunteering career while in high school being a part of the St. Patrick’s High School Student Council among many other initiatives. Marc is dedicated to his home community of Thunder Bay and works to make our city welcoming to all. By being a part of the GenNext team, Marc has connected with like-minded people who are dedicated and passionate about Thunder Bay, just like he is.
Marc is currently a 4th year Honours Bachelor of Commerce Finance Major student at Lakehead University. He is also a part of the Work Integrated Learning Program as a student with RBC. Marc shares that he really enjoys this opportunity as he is able to go to each of the RBC branches in Thunder Bay and learn about the different positions that exist within the bank.
Over the past several years, Marc has had the opportunity to volunteer and be involved with different organizations. One of the organizations that he has been involved with over the last few years is Christmas Cheer. After his experience with this organization, his interest in volunteering and improving the community grew, leading him to the United Way for his placement and then joining GenNext.
A fun fact about Marc is that he has been playing hockey for the last 18 years, and his team last season won the Junior B Western National Championship!
Marc was a wonderful addition to our team during his placement and we are so happy that he is continuing on as a volunteer with GenNext!
