Joanne’s leadership also helped the United Way of Thunder Bay become a leader in impacting the community, by identifying pressing social issues, and collaborating with other organizations to address the root causes.

“It has been an exciting experience, watching the United Way grow in prominence in our community over these past years. I’ve been fortunate enough to have spent my career with people, who put their time and energy towards making a difference in our community,” said Joanne, “and with the tremendous dedication of our staff, volunteers, and loyal community members, we will continue to see the impact that donor dollars can

Joanne will continue to serve in her role until May 20, 2016, at which time, Jered Zieroth, current Assistant Executive, will take on the role of Executive Director.

After 28 years of service from Joanne in this community there is an incredible sense of strength because of that.”
