Thunder Bay Counts Community Open Forum
Every day, in hundreds of ways, people all across Thunder Bay do things to try to make the community better. Some people start projects or run organizations, while others volunteer to coach a team. Some start a new business. Some sit on a committee or help out in the neighbourhood or at the school. People do this because they love their community, and because there are urgent social issues requiring action in Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay Counts is a local initiative based on the idea that these efforts could achieve more if they were linked together.
Over the past year Thunder Bay Counts has worked to pull together knowledge about local social issues and priorities for action. We have reviewed many local research reports and conducted community consultations, interviews, and surveys. We have created a draft agenda for change that includes a vision for the kind of community that people want in Thunder Bay and a list of the kinds of changes needed to achieve that vision. Our hope is that this vision can help the community keep track of the progress it is making.
Now, we need your feedback on this plan. Please participate in our Open House on Wednesday, March 26th from 3:30 to 6:30pm at the Italian Cultural Centre. You can give us your reaction to the agenda, learn more about work that is already going on, and add your ideas to the plan.
